Thorne was formed in early April 2008 by bassist/vocalist Ben Hutchings and guitarist Steve Locke, who met in 2003
while performing with jazz-fusion band Orion. The pair soon formed a solid musical partnership, and when Orion took a break in late 2007, they decided to embark
on a new creative endeavour and the seeds of Thorne were sown. The music of Thorne sweeps through many styles, from introspective imagery to epic rock soundscapes, with expressive
vocals soaring over a bed of powerful guitar, anchored firmly by solid basslines and driving rhythms.
Thorne were happy to welcome drummer Fred Beale into the fold in early 2009, and after a short period of rehearsal, the
trio are now enjoying a growing live following.
Instruments - Steve plays Fender, Ibanez and Foxwood guitars through Carl Martin effects and Line 6 and Hughes & Kettner amplification Ben plays a Musicman Stingray bass through ART preamps and Hartke amplification
